Still-life with vase (2026)

After a long summer break, here is my completed art work following on from my post earlier this year – “Work In Progress.” The finished work is a collage. It is in mixed media which consists of acrylic paints, oil pastels, rice paper and various magazine cutouts.

Highlights :

• Bright colour of blue paint and pastels have been introduced to the collage.

• The colour echoes the hues of the smaller leaf design in the piece.

• This blue addition gives rhythm and texture to the artwork.

• The carefree effect of the brush strokes with the markings portray a contemporary style.

• My play of positive and negative space has given a sense of depth to the composition.

Summary :

Making this collage has been a fun experience. I really liked using the traditional form of the still-life with modern techniques in this work. I do hope you enjoy the art.
